Eligibility

  • The candidates shall possess MBA / MCA / Equivalent Degree from a recognized University / AICTE approved Institution with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or 60% aggregate marks at the Master's degree.
  • A candidate belonging to SC/ST/ differently-abled as notified by Govt. of Odisha from time to time shall get a relaxation of 5% marks or equivalent grade in the minimum eligibility criterion.
  • A candidate without having a Management degree but having a post graduate degree in Economics / Sociology / Psychology / Public administration / Commerce / PMIR may be considered for pursuing the Ph.D. programme if the research area is related to Management which shall be subject to the approval of IDRDC.
  • Any candidate who has completed course work and passed the exam from any state university but failed to enroll in the same university on the grounds of non-availability of supervisors may be eligible to join the program at the institute, subject to approval.

Admission

Process
  • All the eligible applicants shall appear for the entrance test to determine the candidate's aptitude for research. The score obtained by the candidates in the entrance test shall form the basis for preparing the merit list of successful candidates.
  • The entrance test shall be for a total of 70 marks consisting of 35 marks on Research Methodology and 35 marks on subject specific and the viva shall carry 30 Marks.
  • The questions shall be of objective multiple-choice type.
  • The duration of entrance test shall be of 45 minutes each for research methodology and subject specific and shall be arranged preferably on a Sunday at a notified Centre.
Pass Score
  • The candidate has to score at least 35 Marks to pass the Entrance test.
  • The candidates who pass the entrance test will only be called for the viva where they shall have to score minimum 15 marks to pass the viva.
Exemption from Entrance Test

Candidates qualified in the UGC-NET (including JRF) shall be exempted from the entrance test. They have to appear at the Viva and obtain the qualifying marks to be eligible for joining the programme.

Application Procedure

All eligible candidates satisfying the requirements shall submit their online application for Ph.D. admission to the institute in the prescribed format. During the application they need to upload the following scanned (PDF) documents.

  • Date of Birth or equivalent Certificate
  • Mark sheets of Qualifying degrees.
  • Certificates of Qualifying degrees
  • Experience Certificate (if any)
  • Score Card / Qualifying Card of GATE / NET / CATE etc.
  • ID proof
  • Certificate for physically challenged
  • Caste certificate.
  • NOC for working professionals
  • Photograph & Signature
